Ready, Set, Print!

Updated: Jul 24, 2019

So now that you have your journal content developed and your final layout complete, you are now ready for publishing! When it comes to selecting a publisher, you have a number of options. You can go to your local printer like Office Max, or you can choose an actual publishing company.

Before going to a publisher, here are a few things to think about...

First, decide what type of binding you would like for your journal to have. Binding simply means how you want the journal pages held together. The most common types of binding are Perfect Binding and Spiral Binding. Next, decide whether you would like a hard or soft cover for your journal. Finally, decide on a publisher. Be sure to choose a company with great customer service and a fast turnaround time. Look at reviews, but don't let 1 bad review run you off (there's always that one person that is never satisfied... you know, a "Negative Nancy"). When I got my first set of journals published, I was so nervous because I just randomly selected a publishing company. Turns out, they did an amazing job! They were very professional, had great customer service, and a very fast turnaround time. For that, they have me as a lifetime customer!
