In January 2019, I started working on my line of prayer journals "Pray, Plan, Progress". The odd thing is, I've never kept a journal, not even a diary. Although I consider myself to be a pretty good writer, I hated to manually write anything out. Once my journal line was complete, I decided to give journaling a shot, and to my surprise, I actually loved it! I have discovered that journaling has so many positive benefits!
Journaling is a great way to help deal with emotions. Journaling is a healthy way to express yourself and identify stressors in your life. Keeping a journal can help with depression, manage anxiety, and reduce stress. When dealing with an issue, instead of leaving it bottled up inside, write it out in a journal. By putting your feelings into words, it forces you to acknowledge the problem or stressor. Now that you are aware of what the stressor is, you are able to deal with it head on. You are now able to manage the problem, resolve it, or seek help to resolve it. This will make you more self-aware, leading to self-improvement.
